Krista Katrovas

The last of seven children in a working-class Louisville, Kentucky, family, Krista Katrovas migrated to San Diego, California, at the age of eighteen. She attended Mesa College, and then San Diego State University where she earned an undergraduate degree in Dance and a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. She worked for more than a decade buying, selling, and developing real estate in California and Florida, as well as teaching modern dance and yoga. Active in the LGBT community, Krista has also, as the owner/proprietor of Angelique’s Boutique, done extensive volunteer work for at-risk women in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is the assistant director of the Prague Summer Program for Writers (a Katrovas family LLC that has run consecutively since 1993).

Krista’s training and experience in yoga has been extensive. She trained in California and India, and taught in California, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, and in Prague, Czech Republic. She owned Sunrise Yoga in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for a number of years, and now teaches at venues in southwest Michigan. At present, Krista is an adjunct instructor in the Holistic Health Department of Western Michigan University.

Krista’s more than forty articles have appeared in numerous national publications, including Circle Magazine, Crone, Elephant Journal, Integral Yoga Magazine, OM Yoga & Lifestyle, Sage Woman, Spirituality and Health, Tathaastu, Tiferet Journal, Women’s Spirituality and Poetry, and Yoga Chicago.
